Ricardo Credi (full name Richard Naguib Credi) was an Egyptian singer / songwriter, who began his career in 1951 providing the music for the Egyptian film “Al-Sab'a Afandy” directed by Ahmad Khorshid. As a singer Credi moved around a lot, moving to Lebanon in the 1960s and releasing songs there, as well as in Spain and Greece. In 1964 Credi moved to Athens with his wife and three children, and for some time he worked in the newly opened Hilton hotel in Athens, performing at the Galaxy Bar as a pianist and singer in the orchestra of Manolis Mikelis. It is there that he met with Vangelis and his band (at that time including Demis Roussos, Lucas Sideras and Argyris Koulouris) and Vangelis' girlfriend Vilma Ladopoulou, who were playing at the same venue the last three months of 1967. During this time Ricardo Credi and Vangelis (and band) recorded two of Ricardo Credi’s songs, 'Siga Siga' and 'Non Et Non', released by Philips on a 7” single in Greece.

After that Ricardo Credi continued his travels again, working as a singer. First he moved to Madrid where he performed at club “Buzuki”, and later to Tenerife, where he could be seen playing at the “Oro Negro” hotel and “Ricci’s Bar” in Playas de Las Americas. In 1989 he returned to Egypt to play several concerts at the Nile Hilton in Cairo. It is said Ricardo Credi passed away a few years later.
