AmoreAlbumFrontIntroduction

"Amore" is a film by French director Henry Chapier, produced in 1973 and screened in cinemas in 1974. As for Chapier’s first cinematic feature film "Sex Power" (1970), Vangelis composed an original score for “Amore”. Unfortunately this score was not deemed worthy of a soundtrack release at the time, and for a long time was never heard of again...

In 2015 the French record label Monster Melodies unexpectedly released a soundtrack for “Amore” in France on a mono LP, apparently without involvement of, or consent by Vangelis. The LP contains longer versions of several cues heard in the film, but at the same time is missing some of the music from the film, as is more often the case with films scores by Vangelis. Still, with over 37 minutes of previously unreleased music this album is a must-have for any Vangelis-enthousiast!

The soundtrack LP was originally issued with a pink vinyl record, limited to 1000 copies, but later re-issued with orange, yellow, green and red vinyl records, each colour limited to 100 copies. Included in the release is a large re-print of the film poster as well as a postcard with a photo of Vangelis and Henry Chapier in the studio. The cover of the album also includes two unique photos of Vangelis during the recording sessions in the studio.
