On the 5th of October 1976 the play “Raz De Marée” premiered at the Théâtre De La Cité Internationale in Paris, France. The play was performed by the group “Théâtre du Square”. Vangelis is credited for the music, but in the absence of a recording it is difficult to verify if Vangelis composed original music for this play. Since Vangelis had earlier also composed music for theatre plays, such as “Ne M'Attendez Pas Ce Soir” (1971), “Les Veuves” (1972) and “Sparagmos” (1973), it is possible hat this play also featured original music. At the same time it could have used pre-existing music, which is known to have occured in other local and international productions.
