Richard Anthony (1938-2015, real name Ricardo Abraham Btesh) was a French singer of Syrian origin, born in Caïro, Egypt, who moved to Argentina, England and finally settled in Paris, France. In 1958 Richard Anthony started recording French cover versions of foreign pop hits, with great success, reaching the first position in the charts with several songs in 1962. Anthony managed to become one of the most popular French singers throughout the 1960s and 1970s, selling more than 60 million records throughout his career.
In 1974 Richard Anthony released the album “Amoureux De Ma Femme”, of which the song with the same name became one of his biggest hits. Included on the same album is ‘Qui T’a Fait Ça’, an original composition by Vangelis. The song is a beautiful ballad arranged for cello and piano. It is not clear if Vangelis also plays on this song. After its original release on LP the song ‘Qui T’a Fait Ça’ was also released on several Richard Anthony compilation CD’s.
Richard Anthony kept singing until the very end, he passed away on the 19th of April 2015.
