“The Yumas” is the name of a one-time ensemble, a cooperation between Vangelis and Argyris Koulouris. The band recorded two songs together, ‘Happiness’ and ‘Tapata’, a commission for the Italian radio show “Nastro Di Partenza”. The songs were released on a 7” single in November 1973, and issued as a blue-label stock copy as well as a white-label promo copy. Probably it was printed in small quantities as it is difficult to find a copy nowadays.
“Nastro Di Partenza” was an Italian radio show presented by the Italian actor Paolo Ferrari, with lyrics and production by Luigi Grillo.
- ‘Happiness’, with 3:09 minutes in length, is a rhythmic tune with drums, guitars, bass and saxophone. About halfway a soulful female voice sings a short vocal, it is unclear who the singer is.
- ‘Tapata’, clocking in at 2:52 minutes, is a funky instrumental, with keyboard, drums, guitar, bass, and saxophone.

- Argyris Koulouris is mostly known as the 'fourth' member of Aphrodite's Child, who re-grouped in France with the band just in time to work on their final album "666". After that he als contributed to Vangelis' albums "The Dragon" (1971), "Earth" (1973) and "See You Later" (1980), as well as Demis Roussos' album "Reflection" in 1984.
- ‘Richard Broadbacker’ is a confirmed pseudonym of Vangelis. The same pseudonym is also used for Vangelis' contributions to the “Humanity” single (1973), Chrisma's single ‘Amore’ (1976) and the the “Mama 'O” single (1978).
