“Splendeur Sauvage” is the title of a television documentary series by French director Frédéric Rossif. The series consists of 36 episodes of about 25 minutes each, which were broadcast on FR3 in 1986 and 1987. Both the images and music of series are not original but sourced from earlier documentaries by Rossif. The title music of the series is by Vangelis and is taken from “La Fête Sauvage” (1976), while the music heard in the episodes is a mixture of music from from earlier documentaries by Rossif, such as “L’Apocalypse Des Animaux” (1973), “La Fête Sauvage” (1976), “L’Opéra Sauvage” (1976) and “Sauvage Et Beau” (1984). The series has also been broadcast in Italy as “Splendore Selvaggio” and “Viaggio Nella Natura”.

Other such compilation wildlife series by Frédéric Rossif with music by Vangelis are “Histoires d’Animaux” (1973), “Animaux Couleurs” (1974), "Un Monde Différent" (1981), “Beauté Sauvage” (1989) and “Les Animaux De Frédéric Rossif” (1989).
