LADFR1RythmeAfricainIntroduction

“Les Animaux De Frédéric Rossif” is a wildlife documentary series by French director Frédéric Rossif. The series consists of 6 episodes of about 75 minutes each, which were released in France on VHS videocassette by Editions Montparnasse in 1989. Both the images and music of series are not original but sourced from earlier documentaries by Rossif. The title music of the series is by Vangelis and taken from “La Fête Sauvage” (1976), while the music heard in the episodes is a selection of music from earlier documentaries such as "Cantique Des Créatures" (1970), “Au Pays Des Visages” (1972), “L’Apocalypse Des Animaux” (1973), "Georges Braque Ou Le Temps Différent" (1974), “La Fête Sauvage” (1976), “L’Opéra Sauvage” (1976), “Sauvage Et Beau” (1984) and "Pasteur Le Siecle" (1987). Some of the music in the 5th episode, “L’Eau Et Les Animaux” is by another (uncredited) musician.

Other compilation wildlife series by Frédéric Rossif with music by Vangelis are “Histoires d’Animaux” (1973), “Animaux Couleurs” (1974), "Un Monde Différent" (1981), “Splendeur Sauvage” (1986), and “Beauté Sauvage” (1989).
