“L’Aventure” is a television documentary series proposed by French director Frédéric Rossif. The series was created and broadcast on FR3 in the early 1980s in France. There is not much information about the series, other than that the episode “Une Terre d’Avant Les Hommes” broadcast in August 1983 includes music by Vangelis. This episode exploring Australia re-uses both the images and music from earlier documentaries by Rossif. Most of the music in this episode (except for the opening titles) is by Vangelis and is sourced from the documentaries “Cantique Des Créatures” (1970), “Au Pays Des Visages” (1972), “L’Apocalypse Des Animaux” (1973), “Georges Braque Ou Le Temp Différent” (1974) and “L’Opéra Sauvage” (1976-1980).
Other wildlife series by Frédéric Rossif that re-use music by Vangelis are "Histoires D'Animaux" (1973), “Animaux Couleurs” (1974), "Un Monde Différent" (1981), “Splendeur Sauvage” (1986), “Beauté Sauvage” (1989) and “Les Animaux De Frédéric Rossif” (1989).
